• Newton County Fire Station 7 opened February 19th 2009

• Open Burning will be allowed on October 1 and will run thru May 1 (See Outdoor Burning regulations)or call Georgia Forestry at 770-784-2480

• Newton County Fire Service receives new fire safety house from Federal Fire Safety Grant.

• Newton County Fire Service combines with The City of Covington Fire in a partnership to erect the Fire Service's first training facility. The project broke ground in 2009 and completion date is projected to be January 2010
